JOIN THE CREW

RM3 Automotive is hiring a Mobile Mechanic for the Greater Atlanta Metro. We supply the service van, the tools, the customers and the scheduling. You bring the wrench skills and a good attitude.

First, who are you?

So we can reach you.

Jobs are routed by area, so this matters more than it would at a shop.

The basics

Straight yes-or-no. Nothing here rules you out on its own; we just need to know.

Are you 18 or older?
Are you legally authorized to work in the United States?
Do you have a valid driver's license?

You would be driving a company vehicle to every job. Non-negotiable.

How is your driving record?
Are you OK with a background check?

You would be in customers’ driveways and around their keys. They ask; so do we.

Are you comfortable driving a full-size work van in Atlanta traffic all day?

We provide the service vehicle. It is loaded with a jack, stands, a toolbox and parts, and it is what you would be in between jobs.

Do you have a reliable way to get to the start point every shift?

Where the van is parked, or wherever the day begins.

Wrench time

What you have done and what you are good at.

How long have you been working on cars for pay?
How much of that was mobile?

Driveway work is a different animal from a bay with a lift. No mobile time is fine; we want to know what you are walking into.

ASE certifications

Check every one you currently hold, or the last box if you have none yet.

Other certifications and training
What are you strong at?

Only check what you would put your name on. This is the work we would send you out on.

This is the answer we read closest. How you think through a problem tells us more than any list of certs.

Tools and the driveway

We stock the van. Mobile still means no lift, no parts room and nobody to hand you a 10mm.

Tools and equipment are provided. What about your own?

Plenty of techs prefer their own box. Either answer is fine.

Can you safely lift a car in a sloped driveway or a parking lot?

Honest answer, please. It is the number one way mobile techs get hurt.

Which of these are you fine with?

All part of the job. Check what you are comfortable doing; leave what you are not.

When can you work?

What are you looking for?
Which days?
How far are you willing to travel for a job?

From where you live. Drive time is on the clock; we just need to know your range.

Would you take after-hours or emergency calls?

Stranded-in-a-lot, dead-battery stuff. Not required, but it is the work that builds a reputation fastest.

Last few things

PDF or Word, up to 10MB. A clear photo of a paper resume works too.

The owner reads every application, and you will hear back either way. Nothing here is shared or posted anywhere.
